阿佐田哲也の小説を読んでいると、勝負事はゲームに勝つだけではなく、勝ったところでやめて、その場から離れ、かつ決してそこに戻らないことが重要で、このセオリーにまつわる話が何度も何度も出てきます。阿佐田さんはまた、勝ち続けることが大切なのではなく、ツキの流れの悪い時に賭け金を減らして、ツイている時に賭け金を増やし、かつ儲かっている間にゲームをやめる、こういった一連の、或る意味での”管理”が大切であることを説いています。
このことは賭け事だけでなく、広く経済活動を含む人間の営みの多くのことに当て嵌まる気がします。
